Troubleshooting for toy claw machine’s gantry

Gantry is one of the most important part of toy claw machine. Without controlling the joystick, a gantry move automatically to one direction once inserting coins. What’s the wrong with it and what should we do to fix it?

This is common among claw arcade machine and there are two main reasons: First the microswitch of sticker might be damaged because of overexerted movement. Second, it might be caused by errors of motherboard.So how we make the right judgement?Solutions as follows:

1. Check if it’s caused by errors on microswitch:

Check the joystick firstly: open the console,you will find that there are four microswitch on one joystick, which correspond to the four directions:front,rear,

left and right of gantry. And on every microswitch there are two wires attaching to it. For example, pull out one of the front microswtich’s wires if gantry automatically move to front after inserting coins, and then restart the machine and test. If it works after pulling out one wire, it is proved that there are errors on  microswtich, you just need to change another one.

2. Check if it’s caused by errors on Motherboard:

If there’s nothing wrong with the sticker, we need to check if the motherboard of the claw toy machine operates well.

1) Find the sticker control’s wires on motherboard, restart the machine after pull them out and see if the trouble lasts.

2) Enter the motherboard’s test menu, test each motor of the gantry.(Read the manual for details)

3) Change another motherboard.
